On 12 February 2025, the Australian Government released its R&D discussion paper, and welcomed feedback through a consultation process. R&D Investment has been on a steady decline over the years, and the consultation aims to explore how Australia can drive stronger innovation, research, and commercialisation, in order to improve national productivity and global competitiveness.

In our response to the panel, we noted our perspective on the fundamental problem being the failure to translate R&D into scalable products and services, and the solution lies in shifting our focus from not just creating R&D, but supporting its commercialisation implementation at scale.
